Comrade Chuks Ehirim, a former chairman of Federal Capital Territory, FCT Chapter of Nigerian Union of Journalists is dead.

It was gathered that the fearless journalists died in Abuja early Thursday morning after a brief illness. The journalist whose wife died some years ago passed on the same day he was to hit the golden age of 50.

He reportedly died at the Garki hospital in Abuja.

Femi Ipaye, a journalist with this magazine recalled that the late chairman of NUJ called on 25 May to request for a number and had told him that he was just discharged from Kuje General Hospital where he was treated for typhoid then.

Ehirim works with many newspapers and magazines, including TheNEWS magazine where he was the Enugu State correspondent.

Chuks who served as FCT NUJ chairman up until 2015, was born June 16, 1966.

He was a graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

He was as Deputy Editor at Global Paragon news Magazine before his death.
