Buhari: goes for medical check up cum vacation in UK

President Muhammadu Buhari will jet out of Nigeria on Monday to  London  to rest and also examine a nagging infection in his ears, media adviser Femi Adesina said in a statement.

He will spend 10 days before returning home.

During the holiday, President Buhari will see an E.N.T Specialist for what was described as a ” persistent ear infection”.

According to Adesina, the President was examined by his Personal Physician and an E.N.T Specialist in Abuja, and was treated.

Both Nigerian doctors recommended further evaluation purely as a precaution.

News reports in recent days said the ear infection, said to be painful kept the president away from several official functions: the state visit to Lagos, the launch of UNEP clean up of Ogoni land and the ECOWAS summit in Senegal.

He was represented at all these occasions by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.
