The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase, has directed that there should be effective and extensive deployment of policemen and logistics across the country during the Eid el-Kabir celebrations.

The directive is contained in a statement in Abuja on Wednesday issued by the Force spokesperson, Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police, Olabisi Kolawole.

The police boss promised that the Nigeria Police would provide robust security throughout the period of the festival.

He also mandated all assistant inspectors-general and command commissioners to ensure adequate security with standard operation procedures to secure key and vulnerable points before, during and after the festival.

Arase enjoined Nigerians to always report acts of criminality to the police at all times as the Nigeria Police was prepared to take prompt and decisive actions.

The statement said that Arase, on behalf of the entire officers and men of the Nigeria Police, wished all Muslims happy Eid-el-Kabir.
