Governor Ibikunle Oyelaja Amosun today declared that his mandate renewal for another four year-term by the people of Ogun state, is a reflection of their confidence in his administration during the first tenure.

While soliciting the continued cooperation of the people of the state, the governor reiterated the determination of his administration to put the state on the path of progress and modernisation” such that all stakeholders would be able to fulfil their collective and individual aspirations.

Amosun, who was decked in a native attire of brown aso oke along with his wife, Olufunsho, and his children, walked the red carpet to the podium at the main bowl of the MKO Abiola International stadium,Kuto,Abeokuta,for the swearing in ceremony amid cheers from friends, party members and associates at the venue.

At exactly 11:48 am, the Chief Judge of Ogun State,Justice Olatokunbo Olopade administered the Oath of Office for the governor for another term of four years in office.

Fifteen minutes earlier, at 11:33 am, the Oath of Office was administered on the Deputy govermor-elect, Princess Yetunde Onanuga, who was accompanied to the ceremony by her husband, Otunba Abiodun Onanuga and her children.

According to the governor,” the inaugural ceremony was neither for the celebration of the party’s victory nor just for the administering of the Oath of Office on him and the Deputy, but a moment to celebrate “unity, freedom, development and progress,as well as a renewal of vows to take the state to the next level”

“Today, I have taken a solemn oath to the good people of Ogun state and I wish to make a further commitment that we will leave Ogun state radically and demonstrably better and more prosperous than we met it.

“We will leave Ogun state where taps are running in all homes; where factories and workshops are powered with regular supply of electricity; where health facilities are well equipped and properly maintained by highly qualified and well trained staff; where schools are functional, light rail links the state from town to town and where law and order is sustained”,Amosun pledged.

Dignataries from all walks of life including traditional rulers,party chieftains,union groups,artisans,transporters,student groups attended the ceremony.
The Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Michael Adeniyi Sonariwo, who is the Chairman of the Ogun State Traditional Council led other monarchs which include the Olu of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle to the occasion.

Others are the two Senators elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress APC,Prince Lanre Tejuoso (Ogun Central) and Prince Omogbolahan Dada (Ogun West),the elected members of the House of Representatives and members of the State House of Assembly.
