A Photograph from the archive, made available to us, by Dele Ajaja, shows a former Nigerian foreign minister, Jaja Nwachukwu dozing off at a United Nations General Assembly session in July 1960 in New York.
Perhaps, the sobriquet, ‘sleeping giant’, came from this act.
Fifty four years after, Nigeria continues to sleep anyway.
