Senator Ayogu Eze: three primaries for his seat

Three separate primaries were held today in Nsukka, Enugu state to elect a candidate to be the party’s torch bearer for Enugu North Senatorial Zone.

One of the polls held at Government Field Nsukka; another took place at Nsukka Civic Town Hall Achara road, while the third was at GRA, close to Government Field.

At Nsukka Government Field, accreditation started at about 12.05 p.m. while delegates voted under tight security provided by police, civil defence corps and other law enforcement agents.

Senator Ayogu Eze is the incumbent senator, representing the zone. He has done two terms and wants a third attempt. He now has formidable challenge from Chief Okwesilieze Nwodo, the first elected governor of Enugu State and former national chairman of the PDP.

There is also Chuka Utazi, the former Commissioner for Transport under Governor Sullivan Chime.
