Agnes, the wife of Cameroon’s deputy prime minister,Amadou Ali, kidnapped by Boko Haram in July has rejoined her family after she was freed, along with 26 other captives by the militants. There were 10 Chinese among the captives released and 16 other locals.
President Paul Biya who announced their release did not indicate whether any ransom was paid the militants, waging a war against Nigeria and its neighbours to create an Islamic State. AFP PHOTO/REINNIER KAZE
