The N156 billion, all glass, iconic 37 storey World Trade Centre Towers multi-use complex, comprising of luxury high rise office towers and luxury apartments was one of the victims of the heavy rain which was accompanied by strong windstorm that destroyed many structures in Abuja last Tuesday, 27 October.

The tower, located along Constitution Avenue, in the Central Business Area of the city and strategically positioned on the road leading directly into Abuja from the Airport had some of its glass structure destroyed by the crane being used to work on it. The crane fell on the tower when it was hit by the heavy wind that came with the rain.

The first phase of the World Trade Centre project first phase was to have been completed in 2013.
