*Party Runs Out Of Nomination Forms

The race for who succeeds Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, as the next Governor of Lagos State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) continues to get tougher by the day with more aspirants showing up at the party secretariat to pick their expression of interest and nomination forms.

The array of aspirants has brought about a shortage of the form leading to the state leadership of the party to call for more forms from the party’s national headquarters.

P.M NEWS learnt exclusively that as at the night of Friday, 17th October, 2014, all the ten expression of interest and nomination forms for governorship primary in the state have been sold out.

It was also gathered that the leadership of the party had to call for more forms from the national headquarters, hence another batch of ten forms was forwarded to the state secretariat on Saturday, 18th October, 2014.

Apart from known and established aspirants such as: Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, Akin Ambode, Dr Leke Pitan and the Speaker, Sabit Adeyemi Ikuforiji, there are other lesser known aspirants such as: Hakeem Alobo-Bakare and in-law to Globacom boss, Mike Adenuga, Hakeem Disu among others.

New aspirants have also sprung up. Among them are: former Lagos State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Olasupo Sasore; and erstwhile Commissioner for Health, Special Duties and Rural Development in the state, Dr Tajudeen Odutola Kasali.

Expectedly with the party zoning its governorship ticket to the Lagos East Senatorial District, majority of the aspirants are from the zone with the exception being the duo of Hakeem Disu and Alobo-Bakare who are both from the Lagos Central Senatorial District.
