Tony Pulis has left his position as manager of Premier League club Crystal Palace this evening, less than 48 hours to the club’s first match of the 2014-15 league season.

56-year old Pulis left Selhurst Park by ‘mutual consent’ following a meeting this evening with the London club’s vice-chairman Steve Parish.

It is believed both parties were at a disagreement over the club’s transfer policy, as the Eagles have been largely dormant in the transfer market this summer.

The former Stoke City manager joined Palace in November 2013 and managed to steer the club from the relegation zone to finish in 11th; Palace’s highest ever league finish.

The feat, which saw the club claim the scalps of high profile clubs in England, led to Pulis being named Premier League Manager of the Year last season.

Crystal Palace will begin its 2014-15 campaign away at FA Cup and FA Community Shield holders Arsenal, with assistant manager Keith Millen set to take temporary charge of the club then.
