Sharks of Port-Harcourt maintained their leadership of the Nigeria Premier League table after rallying to a 3-3 draw away at Sunshine Stars in a pulsating matchday 13 fixture on Saturday.

Ifeanyi Inyam put the visitors ahead with a 28th minute strike but two penalties converted by Oghogho Oduokpe either side of half time turned the tide in Sunshine’s favour.

Alaba Adeniyi’s header just before the hour mark made scores 3-1 for Sunshine but goals from Chima Akas and Frederick Obomate ensured Sharks came away from Akure with a point.

The draw extended Sharks’ unbeaten run to seven matches and left the Port-Harcourt club top of the table with 23 points, two points ahead of Nasarawa United ahead of Sunday’s league matches.

Nasarawa on their part fell to a 2-0 loss at defending champions Kano Pillars in Kaduna, in what was the first of a three-match stadium ban imposed on Pillars by the league’s disciplinary committee.

Goals in each half from Adamu Hassan and Rabiu Ali with a penalty ensured Pillars rose eight places to seventh with 17 points from 12 games ahead of Sunday’s matches.

In Saturday’s other match, Dolphins moved up to fifth place with 18 points after edging Akwa United by a lone goal in Port-Harcourt courtesy of Emmanuel Olowo’s 68th minute penalty.

Lobi Stars have the chance to go second when they visit Abia Warriors in one of seven Nigeria Premier League matches to be played on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Warri Wolves host in-form Heartland, Rangers welcome Crown FC to Enugu, Enyimba will be at home to Kaduna United while Bayelsa United will be guests of FC Taraba and bottom club Nembe City host El-Kanemi Warriors.
