The Plateau Government will pay the bills of all injured persons in the twin bomb blasts that rocked Jos on Tuesday killing 75 persons, the Commissioner for Information, Mrs Olivia Dazyam, has said.

Dazyam, who announced this in Jos on Wednesday while updating newsmen on the blasts, added that government had set some money aside for the purpose.

“Government is available and ready to foot the bills no matter how much it takes to do it’’, she said.

The commissioner said 75 persons died in the blast while 126 others were injured and receiving treatment in six hospitals in the metropolis.

She said that information desk had been set up in the hospitals to provide information to relations and members of the public on the state of health of those on admission.

She appealed to well meaning individuals to visit hospitals to donate blood to save the lives of the injured.

Dazyam said that preliminary investigations revealed that congestion in the areas where the bombs went off contributed to the high rate of casualties.

She said one of the decisions arrived at during emergency state security meeting after the incident was to enforce the ban on street trading in the metropolis.

“Government is doing its best to support the security agencies to carry out their responsibilities to the optimum.

“The public should remain vigilant, prayerful and cooperate with the security agencies to avert future occurrence’’, she advised. (NAN)
